Good bye, AAA! After thinking about it for a while and missing my cancellation window (because I had it on auto-pay) last year, I finally pulled the plug on my AAA membership and switched to the Better World Club. It costs about the same as AAA and provides pretty much the same roadside assistance, but they also offer roadside assistance for cyclists and don't lobby against environmental protection.

05/03/08 Cecilia's Blog: 'smoker'

A smoker moved to the desk closest to mine two weeks ago. He doesn't smoke at his desk, of course, but every time he comes back from a smoking break, he reeks of cigarette smoke and it permeates the entire area around him for a while before it fades a bit. The smell never really goes away until he leaves.

My springtime allergies have been flaring up for the past month or so, but I also developed an annoying cough at the same time the smoker moved in. Coincidence or causation? I have no way to prove either, but I'm still coughing.
