That's because: 1) the Annals paper was from a stint as a lab tech (all of my work there was completed prior to starting the Ph.D.) and 2) the JI paper was from one of my first-year rotation labs.

I've been helping finish up experiments for a paper in my advisor's lab and should get a co-authorship out of it. So when that's out I'll have four papers, each with a different lab. I have no idea what that says about me. Confused

I would say that this highlights how efficient you are! Congratulations.

It means you'll have a lot of people to fill in when you get to that part of the grant where you have to list every PI who's ever been on a paper with you Smile

Just in my Email...

Dear Dr.Smith,

Your manuscript is scheduled for publication in Journal of Aircraft, Volume

Feels good, first this year.

On which subject, found this on a colleague's webpage...

I've a long way to go! (On the other hand, I'm written into his next research grant application, so I still like him!)

YAY! Finally, paper published as ASAP article in Organometallics today from work I did for my t*****. Will be in print in the next article. After 8 months, four rejections and a bajillion rewrites. The only drawback, my advisor believes in putting *his* name as first author. Always. Without fail. But, I am assuming if someone sees just his name and my name on the paper, they wil realize I did the work. I hope. I really don't care at this point. Its out. Its published.....

Oh yes! Celebratory dance! Oh yeah-uh. Uh-huh! My first paper will be appearing in IEEE Transactions on Visualisation and Computer Graphics sometime in the coming months.

Well done on the publication, madmcurie69! But seriously, that whole thing about your advisor stealing your thunder by putting his name first sucks. If you did the work, surely you get the credit? I'd be seething if it were me.

Just got the magnum opus manuscript from my M.Sc. accepted in Science of the Total Environment (with revisions, of course). Only one more to crank out from that degree, and then off to the Ph.D. chapters!
