PHD TV is an offshoot of the online comic strip "Piled Higher and Deeper" and is made up of a collective of current and former grad students and postdocs:
Jorge is the creator of "Piled Higher and Deeper". He obtained his Ph.D. in Robotics from Stanford University and was an Instructor and Research Associate at Caltech from 2003-2005.
Meg makes things happen around here. She is a Ph.D. student in Planetary Science studying lunar topography and surface processes. She was the producer on The PHD Movie.
Want to work with us or help us get the word out? Talk to Crystal! Crystal is a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry using fluorescence microscopy to probe the molecular basis of nicotine addiction and Parkinson's disease.
Alex keeps everyone happy around here. She is a Ph.D. candidate in Planetary Sciences. She studies molecular excitation in protoplanetary disks in order to characterize planet-forming regions around young stars. She's also a movie star.
Matt has a strange sense of humor, which is why we keep him around. He was a double major in Film and Physics at Cornell, and spent a year at CERN after graduation. He got his Ph.D. in Geophysics and Space Physics from UCLA and is currently a Postdoc at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Laurence makes us sound good. He is a postdoctoral scholar in Earth Sciences at UCLA, where he studies stable isotopes in the environment.
